We’ve all been guilty of at least some of the habits below however if it has become a habit in your life it’s time to pump the brakes!
Now, this list could truly go on and on FOREVER but here are 10 major bad habits to stop today for a happier life!
I think we would all be telling a little fib if we didn’t say we were guilty of this bad habit a time or two. Now while procrastination in small doses is still not ideal making it a habit can derail your progress in almost anything!
Now I don’t think I have to explain to you WHAT procrastination is but here are some ways this habit can keep you from the success you want.
This habit allows fear to creep in
As the saying goes… “ Idle hands are the devil’s playground.” sad but true. If you have things you know you should do but are farting around and wasting time because you either don’t want to do them or are afraid to do them it will only make things worse.
You see when you are not doing the things you need to do that leaves idle time which most of us fill with things we shouldn’t be doing.
well I hope most folk) sits around and does absolutely nothing for hours so if you are not taking action on the things that need to be done you are entertaining the things that don’t need to be done.
When you do this it makes the fear creep in and paralyze you, and eventually, a day of procrastination turns in to two days, a week, and before you know it a lifetime.
It also erodes your self esteem
Here’s the thing… the way you feel about yourself overall is in direct correlation to your values.
Values are simply defined as a standard of behaviors or what you deem “important in life” so if you have excellent values then you know that procrastination cannot be entertained because it won’t help you achieve the things you want any faster.
However, if you are procrastinating you are disregarding your values which hurts the way you see yourself…

2.) Making Excuses Is One Of The Worst Habits
There is a reason I have nestled this one right under the procrastination habit and that is because they go hand in hand. First, you procrastinate, and then you come up with excuses on WHY you procrastinated in the first place.
It’s a never-ending cycle and ladies I want what’s best for you so DON’T fall victim to this bad habit.
Sometimes we make excuses without even realizing it, and hey sometimes our excuses are really good ones, but nevertheless they are still excuses and they don’t help us go in the direction beneficial for our life goals.
3.) Not Managing Your Money
Okay so if your current circumstances are not allowing you to do the things you know you need to with your money I’m not talking to you here.
I am referring to having access to the funds you need to take care of your business but being in the habit of not managing where it goes properly.
I want you to say this….
“My money is a tool. I am in control of it, and I tell it where to go. Not the other way around.”
but if you have fallen into the trap month after month of not paying attention to what you spend your coins on, and then being in a panic on the 31st it’s time to have a conversation with yourself.

Trust me I know…sometimes Suzy in the office has pressed firmly on your last nerve and you just need to vent to someone! or maybe rumor has it that Bob is one strike away from getting the ax. Whatever the case may be…
“Stay in your lane.”
You see when you are busy talking about others that gives you less time to worry about you so you are in essence stealing from yourself.
We only have 24 precious hours in a day, and even if you don’t have dreams of grander I am sure there is something you are striving for in life whether it be.
whatever it is it will take longer to get there if you are worried about what others are doing. and if you start the right habits today you can have anything you desire.

5.) The Habit Of Complaining Will Drain You
This bad habit will zap all of the fun out of almost anything don’t you agree? I once heard “complaining is like sitting in a rocking chair. You can do it all day and still not get anywhere.“

I mean really? Why spend time doing something that has no benefit other than making any situation worse than it was in the first place.
Not to mention the buzzkill it has on others. So be the ray of sunshine see the GOOD in every situation because every cloud has a silver lining.
6.) Worrying Is One Of The Many Habits That Will Effect Your Health

7.) An Unhealthy Diet
Now, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with a slice of pizza or a burger now and then for a treat, and I am a believer that you need to enjoy some food dishes for your sanity!
But, having these types of dishes once or twice a week is different than making a habit of indulging in them every day.
You see in order for your body to function at its peak it needs the right type of fuel in order to work properly. So by eating healthy you are actually thanking your body in advance for all the things it does daily. Most of which we take for granted or don’t even realize.
Health is a long term game, and your habits today are going to be what you have to deal with 20 years from now.
So treat your body like the temple it is.
8.) Not Exercising
Okay okay…you work an eight or twelve-hour shift and are absolutely exhausted and then somebody expects you to exercise afterward?

9.) Waking Up Late, Going To Sleep late, Or HECK Just Being Late!
I think these are all one and the same because they all have to do with time. AND each one affects the other which affects HOW you start your day off.
Go to sleep late you wake up late; wake up late then you are late to work…make sense?
Give yourself time to start your day and you will feel so much better! When you’re not in a rush you will be happier and will not miss the important things to get your day going like breakfast and meditation.
10.) Not Planning Allows Bad Habits To Develop
Fail to plan and plan to fail… having all those things you need to do trapped inside your head causes anxiety, and not to mention they are more likely to be forgotten!
So get a piece of paper, print a planner whatever you need to do to get that stuff out of your head, and available to your eyes only.
This really will ease the stress of the day. When you know that while you haven’t finished everything yet you are aware that it is important, and have it in a place where you will not forget that it needs to be done.
