First, I want to thank one of my amazing Level up Ladies for being the inspiration behind this post (you know who you are). This is such a fantastic topic to write about especially right now. You know, I often get asked “How do you keep such a positive attitude?” Ladies I am here to tell you that I have been through it all JUST. LIKE. YOU. This is one of the main reasons I am in awe every day of our strength as women. However, no matter what we have been through we have always made it out on the other side some way, somehow. This is how I choose to look at life. No matter what is going on there are blessings around us everywhere, and we must be mindful not to forget the little things. Here’s how to find peace in the midst of chaos.
Understanding that life is cyclical will encourage peace.
It was many years ago when I learned this phenomenon, and it has helped me keep things in perspective even today. You see we think of life and time as a straight line when actually it is and will always be a circle (until the good Lord calls us all home)
Now I am not going to get all fancy pancy here and act like I’m some sort of space guru, I am just telling you from personal experience. There are so many aspects of life that we don’t realize are cyclical however, when we think about them it truly does make sense. Heck they even said it in the Lion King! “It’s the Circle of Lifeeeeee.”
Okay, okay…I digress but really think of all the things that go in a circle.
Seasons– There has always been spring then summer, fall, and winter. Once we have had enough of the chilly nights and the hot cocoa the spring blossoms take their turn.
Life Stages– First we crawl then we walk, run, and as father time catches up to us we shrink and move slowly again. We are someone’s child then we have our own children. We are always evolving.
Moon Cycles– Full moon, half-moon, and the quarter moon. Either the moon is full and bright as the sun or we cannot see it even though it is there.
Compass– No matter which way we are currently facing our direction is always in a circle north, east, south, and west.
So I said all of that to say this…
Even when life feels like it is spinning out of control. Even when you feel like if you hear one more piece of bad news…Life will always turn the tide BACK in your favor. This my dear is how I keep it together when things are falling apart.
It’s Mindset training, and it is why I talk about it ALL the TIME!
Now sometimes you may have to deal with things for a week, a month, or even a year but eventually the pain you feel will subside and something else will take its place.Eric Thomas
So you must engrain that in your head. That you have gotten through 100% of your days up until this point, and you will get through this one too!
Incorporating meditation into your daily routine.
Yea I think this one is a no brainer but the sad part is we don’t always do it enough to make it a habit. Look, I get it! The title of this post has the word Chaos in it! I know things can get hectic sometimes but we must make time for it in order to keep ourselves sane!
If you have never meditated before there are many programs out there that offer great advice on how to do it properly. However, just starting the habit of being aware of your breathing and sitting in silence is enough to make it work for you. Before you go out in the world every day get right on the inside. Be mindful of the thoughts you are thinking. When you are in a state of peace it will improve so many aspects of your life! It can relieve stress, anxiety, worry, all those bad habits that we have that are killing our spirit.

Eliminating digital distractions will help you find peace instantly.
Hunny! I fall victim to this one too, so you are NOT alone! We are for sure in the “digital age” and it has become the end of the world if we are without our phones for even a second! However, it is a must to find peace. Silence is so hard to come by these days its almost creepy when it shows up. I mean think about it, how many times have you been sitting in your living room with the t.v off…just doing NOTHING?
I’d bet money on it not often or NEVER, but my dear that is where are the magic happens. From the moment we wake up each day everyone is in competition for our attention. Whether it’s Google News, TMZ, or those 50 emails that seem to dump into your inbox overnight. We must learn the art of minimizing distractions in order to put peace first.
And for Pete’s sake please don’t turn on the local news! You see people feed off of fear and negativity, and trust me when I say the media knows this. I mean really think of any “good news.” you’ve heard lately? Now I know we are going through a lot right now, but surely there is something good happening right?
Give it to God and go to sleep.
One of the best pieces of advice I have ever gotten. Chile surrender! All we have control over is what’s on the inside. All the things that are happening in life are not our concern. However, what we choose to believe, and DO about what happens to us is where our true job lies. When you stop looking outward for the answers to your life you will realize they have been inside of you all along.
Channel your strength, and believe that you have everything inside you right now to find peace and overcome anything! You are the master of your ship. No matter what is going on in life be at peace my dear, because you are wonderfully made.
So Many Blessings,
