How Your Self Confidence Level Directly Impacts Your Money
By Brittany Cherrell
Oh yeah…let’s talk confidence level and money honey
You know cash, the green stuff, the big bucks, stacks, whatever you refer to it as. Even though money isn’t everything you surely need it to live a life that is manageable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting it, however, it is tough to attract when your confidence level is less than stellar.
You can have all the skill and talent in the world but if your confidence level is lacking you will be staring at your bank balance wondering why it won’t budge.
Or find yourself in the predicament of many…too many bills so little money
There are precise reasons for this and today we will discuss them all.
So buckle your seatbelt and get ready for the confidence keys that will take you from a life of lack to a life of abundance. Here is why your confidence level directly impacts your wallet.
“Confidence comes naturally with success. But, success comes only to those, who are confident.”
Your Confidence level Allows You To Act In Spite Of Fear
What’s scary for one may not be scary for all however, I think I can be quite general when I say most of us start shaking in our boots when we attempt something that makes up feel uncomfortable.
Ahhhh the dreaded word “uncomfortable” has sabotaged more dreams than anything on earth and most people don’t realize it’s actually the best state to be in.
You see our brain is always in a state of trying to protect us.
As it very well should.
However, it’s our job to decipher whether it’s protection from imminent danger or protecting us from our own made-up fears.
Now, will going for that new position or promotion harm us? No, it can help us grow and can put us in a new tax bracket which = moolah
But if we begin to develop a fear around “what if I can’t do it?” or “what if I’m not good enough?” then we go on total shutdown, and discipline ourselves for ever thinking we could do it in the first place.
Tisk, Tisk…Back to square one!
However, when you begin to practice self-confidence you will begin to do things in spite of how you feel. You see your confidence level doesn’t have to be amazing the day you start something new. It’s about having enough confidence to allow yourself to go for things despite how you feel about it.
This is the only way you can muster the strength to take on new challenges that will allow you to grow as well as your bottom line.
You understand the benefits of investing in you
Lawd hammercy… I mean I truly get stumped on this one.
The unwillingness to invest in yourself will keep you in a prison.
When people think about buying a book, or enrolling in a course, or taking a class they think about what they have to lose initially monetarily.
Like 10 bucks for a book?! Or a hundred bucks to take a course?!
Now if this is you, that’s okay we’re going to get your mind right today.
You must learn to train your mind to see the benefit of what you have to gain by doing it instead of what you have to lose initially.
Or another way to think about it is “what will it cost you, if you don’t?
Again, this has to do with your confidence level. Being willing to act in spite of fear. Which in this case means maybe to let go of money initially without knowing for sure that you will get a return.
That can feel scary, right?
However, if you’re confident you still do it in spite of that…remember?
Let’s do a scenario to make this even clearer.
If you were holding 4 quarters in your hand, and I told you if you took those 4 quarters, and gave them to me I could teach you how to make 12 quarters…would you do it?
You are trying to triple your income..why wouldn’t you?!
It’s the same mentality here.
You have to practice confidence and be willing to give up what you got to gain the skills to get more.
Your confidence level will allow you to take risks when it comes to the green stuff
There is no denying it…life is risk. However, we try to justify the risks we are willing to take in our own heads, meanwhile, other risks that will help us too are pushed to the wayside.
Think about it…there are many risks we take each and every day because either we have justified it or have been taught that it’s worth it.
However, have you actually thought about it yourself?
In other words, other than what your momma told you or what society deems to be the ideal path in life how have you decided what things are worth taking a risk for?
How have you decided what things can potentially bring you money to put your confidence in?
Everyday people enroll in college without the ability to pay upfront hoping that the risk of racking up student loans will be worth it considering what they will have the opportunity to earn.
Even though this is the case many graduates find it difficult to find a good ole J.O.B once they walk across that stage.
Or what about when you get in your car to drive to work each and every day even tough statistically you are more likely to die in a car crash than to die walking or flying. You are willing to take that risk in order to get a paycheck.
I say all of that to say this…
Risk is risk. If you are willing to risk in other things that may not pan out you should be willing to risk in things like, stocks, real estate, self-improvement courses, personal growth, etc.
These things can directly impact your money just like the things that society tells us to do.
Catch my drift?
Your ability to excersise confidence is greater than the fear surrounding it
Can I get an Amen from the back?
There is no doubt that fear can be paralyzing. However, as I have told you too many times to count, confidence doesn’t care about fear. It knows it’s there but pays it no mind.
It’s like starting something new and having somebody jump up and down behind soundproof plexi glass right beside you.
You can see them in your peripheral vision but continue on anyway.
What you desire must be stronger than the factors stopping you from getting it.
If you are tired of living paycheck to paycheck, or maybe you’ve had to start over because of a major financial burden whatever it is you must exercise confidence to change course.
“If you do what you’ve been doing you will get what you’ve been getting.”
You have to be ready to say no matter how afraid of XYZ I am if it can get me where I want to go…let’s do it!
It keeps you from shrinking back
So many times we get on this motivation kick where we are ready to “level up” (
no pun intended) we’re excited, eager to change things for the better, get our money right, and become who we want to be.
Then the motivation starts to fizzle…
We let that inner critic talk us out of going for that job, or investing in that business, or just getting started creating a budget.
It talks us out of what we desperately want and then we end up shrinking back only to play the same scenario over and over again for the next however many months or YEARS!
Don’t let this be you! Take your confidence to the next level and be willing to go after what you want, because you deserve it!
