AAhhhhh the Monday Blues yep, it’s Sunday again…the day that many people DREAD after their favorite football game has ended (if it’s even football season) especially in the winter when you get less and less daylight (depending on where you are) to enjoy the 2 days a week you can actually call life. Yep, I’ve been there! Working for the weekend, and getting up every day to a soul-sucking 8-5. Not only is the work a bore but most times the hardest part is keeping the smile on your face around the people you really can’t stand. But, you get paid to be nice, and once again you realize you have fallen into someone else’s plan for your life it’s what I like to call the Monday Blues so if this is you keep reading.
The reality is actually a couple of things
- If you dread Mondays you are not working in your God-given gift (what he created you to do)
- Sometimes you have to be uncomfortable and need to figure out HOW to use your current situation to your advantage i.e changing your MINDSET
You Have ALL the Power Against Those Monday Blues.
Once you realize this I promise it will change things for you.
You have to change your mind from “everything is happening to me” to “everything is happening FOR me” You are in CONTROL of your life! And sometimes you are put in positions that SUCKS to give you the motivation to get out. Maybe there is something you have been wanting to do for YEARS like…
- Start a biz
- Go back to school
- Learn a special skill
Whatever that is for you I PROMISE if you currently LOVE your situation it will not give you the motivation to go for your dreams.
Now maybe due to circumstances of adulthood i.e bills, kids, family, the spouse you may need to work a particular schedule/job to meet the needs of them.
BUT, parenthood, marriage, family NONE of these are reasons for self-sacrifice. You must always be working on you! You gotta take care of yourself to help others.
So what that means is you need to have other things you are doing outside of work that is developing you.
In the words of Jim Rohn “Success is something you attract by the person you become” so if you stop working on you, then you can ensure you will be working that same job year after year for the rest of your LIFE with no way out!
You Must Get Serious About What you Want to Fight Those Monday Blues.
I have said it OVER and OVER again. You can’t know how to get what you want until you know what it is you actually want! So this All comes down to GOALS my friend.
You are NOT your Current Circumstances.
If you haven’t noticed by now life is cyclical. Just like the seasons you have good months bad months, great years, ok years. One thing is for sure the things you are doing today are shaping your tomorrow.
Things are constantly changing all the time even when the day to day seems so mundane, right? I mean you go to the same job for year after year but even in that time, things seem to be different.
SO, You are too awesome to give an employer 40+ hours a week just to have Monday Blues on Sunday and not give YOU anything!!
I am an advocate for personal growth! Here are some things you can do to start the process
- READ! Personal development books
- Get your finances in order
- Start a new fitness routine
- Implement a diet that will give you the energy to keep going after 5
- Go to seminars
- Take a class
- Sharpen your skills
- Work on your outlook on life (mindset)
- Schedule time to work on YOU!
Prosper Where you are Planted.
Even if your situation is not Ideal you must use gratitude to prosper where you’re planted. It is such an amazing tool that will take that negativity and complaining out of your Life! There is ALWAYS something to be grateful for, and when you think of how many people in this world would WISH to have only your problems it makes the Monday giant seem small.
So, keep your head UP! And be HAPPY that tomorrow is Monday and you are ALIVE to see it!
Maybe, you’re unhappy on Mondays because your job isn’t taking care of you financially. If you need help in that area, read my other money blogs.
So Many Blessings,
